COCO'S BURLESQUE WORKSHOPS

CLASSIC TECHNIQUE

In this 90-minute technique-focused workshop inspired by the Jazz Era and Golden Age of burlesque.

This class centres on the iconic classic burlesque silhouettes—think clean lines, deliberate pacing, refined gestures, and confident presence. We’ll explore foundational movement, posture, transitions, and expressive details that create unmistakably classic shapes on stage, while honouring the artistry that defined early burlesque performance.

Designed for all levels, this workshop welcomes beginners looking to build strong fundamentals as well as experienced performers who want to refine and deepen their classic technique. Variations and guidance will be offered so everyone can move comfortably and confidently at their own pace.

This is a safe, inclusive, and body-positive space where all identities, bodies, and experience levels are celebrated. Props will be provided, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the movement and aesthetic without needing to bring anything extra.

WHAT TO WEAR : Bring something you are comfortable to dance in that also allows you to feel sensual and empowered. I always encourage a bit of lipstick too if ya fancy! Bring heels and water, to stay hydrated and fabulous!

SENSUAL STRIP

✨ Please bring your own gloves

This 90 minute Sensual Strip workshop is an invitation to slow down and luxuriate in the how rather than the what. We will explore striptease as an art form, where every choice is deliberate and every pause is charged. We will focus on how to cultivate confidence through control and intentional movement, cultivating presence, and discovering how subtlety can be just as powerful as spectacle. You’ll be guided to listen to your body, trust your instincts, and let your sensuality unfold naturally—moment by moment.

What we’ll focus on

• The art of tease

Learning how anticipation works: delaying gratification, playing with eye contact, and allowing stillness to speak. We’ll explore how to suggest rather than show, and how to keep the audience leaning forward.

• Intentional movement & pacing

Slow walks, weighted transfers, breath-led gestures, and controlled transitions. We’ll work with pauses, accents, and softness—so nothing feels accidental or rushed.

• Hands, arms & pathways

How the journey of your hands across the body can be as evocative as the removal itself. Think tracing, framing, hovering, and withholding.

• Glove work

Gloves become our central prop as we break down classic glove-removal techniques and reimagine them in fun dynamic ways.

✨ Please bring your own gloves (any length or style you feel fabulous in).

• Embodiment & confidence

Dropping out of performance anxiety and into sensation. This class is about how it feels in your body, not how it looks to anyone else.

We’ll finish by weaving everything together into a slow, sensual striptease sequence, giving you tools you can return to again and again—on stage, in rehearsal, or simply for yourself.

WHAT TO WEAR : Bring something you are comfortable to dance in that also allows you to feel sensual and empowered. I always encourage a bit of lipstick too if ya fancy! Bring heels and water, to stay hydrated and fabulous!
