Fosse Silhouettes is a 90-minute choreography-based workshop inspired by the unmistakable style of Bob Fosse—drawing from the jazz-driven movement, sharp lines, and seductive minimalism of his heyday in the 1960s through to the 1970s. This class focuses on creating strong, iconic silhouettes through precision, musicality, and controlled intensity, hallmarks of the Fosse aesthetic.
You’ll learn choreography rooted in classic jazz technique, exploring isolations, turned-in lines, stylized walks, and expressive subtlety that defined Fosse’s work on stage and screen. Movement will emphasize intention and attitude as much as steps, allowing dancers to embody the confidence and character that made this era so iconic.
We’ll be dancing to Fosse music, with inspiration drawn from films such as Chicago (1972) and Sweet Charity (1966).
This workshop is open to all levels, with options and variations offered so dancers of any experience can participate fully and comfortably. It is held in a safe, inclusive, and affirming space where all bodies, identities, and expressions are welcome. Props will be provided to enhance movement, shape, and storytelling throughout the class.
WHAT TO WEAR : Bring something you are comfortable to dance in that also allows you to feel sensual and empowered. I always encourage a bit of lipstick too if ya fancy! Bring heels and/or jazz shoes if you have them, and water to stay hydrated and fabulous!
Please note : No refunds can be accepted 7 days prior to the workshop, but your ticket can be used as a credit towards another class.
